Theological Colleges Staff and Students
A group of staff and students from the Queen's Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education in Birmingham and St. John's College, Ushaw College and the Wesley Study Centre in Durham will be going on pilgrimage to Faslane on 9th June and will hold a service of worship and witness at the North Gate on Sunday 10th June from 10am to 4pm. People from other theological colleges and courses are invited to join us; indeed, we welcome participation from anyone who would like to be associated with this Christian protest action. You may register either as a home supporter or as a participating pilgrim by completing the registration form and returning it by post with the registration fee of £10.
If you are a student or a member of staff in any other theological college or course, or in a University department of theology, you may wish to take part. Please feel free to create your own form of recruitment and organise your own group in your own way. There is no need for you to use the Queens Foundation registration form. Just let Professor John Hull know you are taking part, using the contact form below, so that we can collaborate.
The Queen's Foundation have now linked up with a group of Peace activists from Birmingham including West Midlands CND. We have 40 registered supporters of whom at least a dozen will make the actual journey and take part in the service of witness. We are having a joint training exercise led by the Ploughshares institute in the Birmingham University chaplaincy on Saturday 26th May from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
The Durham theological college group expect to have a group of around 15 students and staff making the trip to Faslane, supported by a wider network financially and in prayer.
