Schweizer Friedensleute in Schottland verhaftet

Im Zusammenhang mit der 365-tägigen Blockade-Aktion der Atomwaffen-Basis in Faslane bei Glasgow, Schottland wurden heute sechs Leute aus der Schweiz verhaftet. Die Gruppe machte auf die illegale Drohung des Abschusses von Atomwaffen durch Grossbritannien aufmerksam und forderte die Abrüstung sämtlicher Atomwaffen.

Medienmitteilung an Schweizer Medien: 700. Verhaftung - 6 Schweizer Friedensleute in Schottland verhaftet

Im Zusammenhang mit der 365-tägigen Blockade-Aktion der Atomwaffen-Basis in Faslane bei Glasgow, Schottland wurde heute die 700. Verhaftung seit Oktober 2006 gezählt. Darunter waren sechs Leute aus der Schweiz.

CIA & Friend's blockade for peace and disarmament

Renate Zauner, a freelance conference interpreter and cowherd from Switzerland (3rd person from the right side) said this morning: "Great Britain wants to modernise its nuclear weapons, instead of dismantling them. It clearly violates international law. It is not only my right, but also my duty to remedy this situation." The International Court of Justice has declared that the use or threat of the use of nuclear weapons is illegal.

Katie's Easter Sunday with the CIA in Faslane

Katie is four and Scottish.

She arrived at the nuclear submarine base in Faslane by car with her mum, little brother Billie, her soft toy "Blue Cow" and a yummy Easter egg. When we walked towards the gate to join the CIA(*1), she wanted to know what we are doing there, so I explained that there was something really dangerous inside the fence and that we wanted them to take it away because it can hurt people.

Cows in Action - and human beings too.
