Come to Another Brilliant Women’s Action at Faslane September 27-28 2007

[This page is the text from a leaflet advertising this action which can be downloaded below]

Faslane 365 has been maintaining nonviolent blockades at the Trident nuclear base in Scotland all year, focussing moral, political and legal pressure to challenge the warmongers and get rid of nuclear weapons. It’s working, but we need to reverse Westminster’s vote to replace Trident, and keep up the pressure and support for Scotland’s new Parliament that two months later voted by 71 to 16 to get rid of Trident and start the process towards the complete abolition of nuclear weapons worldwide.

Women started the Faslane 365 blockades on October 1st 2006 and thousands have now participated. Come for a further women’s action on September 27th – Make links with peace, women’s and related human security issues and disrupt the illegal nuclear deployments.

Come and join us - to protest, take action, make music, dance, sing, party, debate... and have fun! Organise with a few others and come prepared to take your own autonomous action.

Be ready to blockade the base on September 27th from 7 am or at whatever time you or your group decide. Participate in any way you choose, with lock-ons, sit down blockading or by providing support. Come for one day or more – You can also plan to stay for Faslane 365’s Unified Big Blockade on October 1st.

Faslane is the UK’s nuclear submarine base, and central to the government’s plans to build a new generation of nuclear weapons. It currently hosts 4 submarines with around 58 US-made Trident missiles and up to 200 warheads – each 8 times more powerful than the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima. Help stop this nuclear insanity!
