Patrick's report

Early in the morning we took the bus from Glasgow to Faslane. We aimed at surprising the police by going there before them, which meant a short night. The Finnish activists came to the south gate only to have half of the group arrested, the other half came through though, and managed to put up the tripod and distract the police for quite a while. Now leaving them behind we, the Swedes, headed for the North gate only to find it all deserted but for two lonely officers. We managed to get out of the bus and put ourselves in position before the police could react and it all went very professional and efficient. The police looked dazzled by our resolve and it took them quite a while before they began to take us away. All the time the atmosphere between the officers and he activists was respectful and gentle, even if the police was firm in their attempt to take us away a quick as possible.

2 hours later the blockade was lifted and the traffic jam was slowly resolving. Now we headed for the police station and upon arrival, to our delight, found out that most of us had come to the same station.

After 30 hours in solitude or with the company of one to two activists we were released. The detention guards kindly helped us gather our stuff and sent us of with a "see you soon" to our waiting support group.

In the bus home to Glasgow we felt happy and energetic sharing stories and laughter all the way back to our the church that had been our home for the last week or so. Several of us made vows to came back for more and the evening felt like the beginning of something big rather than the end.
