The message was pretty clear when the GPs gathered at the North Gate this morning, some on the pavement, some in the road.

Imagine having a GP who feels so strongly for her patients' well-being that she is willing to lie down in the road and get arrested for a world without nuclear weapons.

The police often tell protesters that they are being moved for their own 'health and safety'. Well, today the roles were reversed! Trident should be dismantled for everybody's health and safety!

Altogether 9 health professionals from all over the country were arrested this morning while upholding international law and highlighting all the risks the nuclear industry poses to our health.

At first glance you might think that the Strathclyde police have invested in new t-shirts but looking closer you will see that this woman also carries her stetoscope and actually is a GP.
